The merchants of this city being greatly pleased with the
appointment of the Honourable Richard Penn, Esq; to the
government of this province, and determined to express their
satisfaction in the most sincere manner, appointed a
committee, who waited on his on Friday last with the
Merchant's Address.-- At the same time it was so contrived
that an entertainment was provided at the State-House,

The bells of the city were rang, and a number of cannon were
discharged on the occasion.
