Philadelphia, March 30, 1770.  Was stolen last night from
the subscriber in Abingdon, Philadelphia County, a silver
watch with a blue ferret string, a fiddle and hook to hang
it up by, a small seal, supported with a lion engraved
thereon; a needle-worked pocket book, marked I. M. inside of
it, a cotton handkerchief, which had a piece burned out of
the corner, but is darned up; --stolen by a man who calls
himself Edward Godfrey; he is about five feet two or three
inches high, of a light brown complexion, appears to be
about twenty-three years of age; . . . [3 lines, clothing] 
he says he lived with John Duffy, some time ago, near the
barracks. . . [terms] for the thief alone fifteen shilling,
and for thief, watch and goods, eight pounds reward, paid by
[signed] John M'Laughlin.
