Boston. . . Oct. 31. . . All the troops in town marched into
the common this morning, drumming the dead beat; at 8
o'clock Richard Arnes, a private of the 44th regiment,
dressed in white, having just before had the sacrament
administered to him by the Reverend Mr. Palms, Chaplain of
the Regiment, who also accompanied him, was, pursuant to the
sentence of a general court martial, shot for desertion. . .
