Springfield, (in Connecticut) May 27.  On Tuesday last,
being the day on which the Court of General Sessions of the
Peace, and the Court of Common Pleas opened in this town, a
banditti collected from the obscure corners of the county,
composed of men of the most infamous characters. . .

lines] when the bell rang for the Court, they, in hostile
parade, armed with white bludgeons, cut for that purpose,
