Last Wednesday being the anniversary of the birth day of our
most gracious sovereign King George the Third, when he
entered the 46th year of his age, was celebrated here with
every demonstration of loyalty and joy. . . [8 more lines]
And, in the evening, a splendid ball was given by Commodore
Sir Edmund Asileck[?], and the captains of his Majesty's
fleet, at Roubalet's tavern, where a very numerous company
were present; in short the anniversary was commemorated in
the handsomest manner possible. At Flat-Bush, on Long-
Island, the ladies and gentlemen of that village were most
elegantly entertained at a truly splendid ball and supper,
in honour of the day, by the officers of his Serene Highness
the Prince of Waldeck's regiment.
