extracts of several letters, written in response to the loss
by Admiral de Grasse to Admiral Rodney.  A letter refers to
the French defeat derisively] " . . . The Band of Music is
probably gone to the D--l, it is the first instance ever
known of having such people on board.  I think the concert
must have been rather an unharmonious one."
