[London] March 21. Last night their Majesties gave the
patriotic, as well as musical world, a treat, by having
Handil's celebrated oratorio of Judas Maccabaeus performed
by his command, at Drury-Lane. The very great applause
given to the above performance, particularly in the songs
of--"Arm!--Arm!--ye Brave!"--"Sound an alarm!"--and all
those animating parts of that noble oration which breathes a
martial spirit, shewed as if the audience was filled with a
true spirit of indignation and resentment against our
natural and insidious enemy, and as Judas is described,"was
like a lion's whelp roaring for it's prey!"
