[Newport] Jan.22. Sunday last being the anniversary of her
Majesty's birth-day, it was celebrated on Monday at one
o'clock by the fleet in the harbour, &c. (a signal being
made from the Eagle) a royal salute was fired; and in the
evening his Excellency Lord Howe, gave an elegant ball to
the ladies and gentlemen of Newport, also to the officers of
the navy and army.
