Ireland. Kilkenny, Oct.19. On Monday night the 10th inst. a
party of those deluded people called White Boys, amounting
to 140, came along the Kilkenny road to a village in the
parish of Fertagh, and barony of Galmoy, called Johnstown:
They were all (a few excepted) very well mounted, dressed in
their uniforms, with bagpipes, flutes, fiddles and horns
playing before them:. . . [actions described] Being
regularly drawn up, like a squadron of horse, they for some
time entertained themselves with vocal and instrumental
music, after which they went to the house of Edmund Somers.
