[News from London] The public may be assured,
notwithstanding every report to the contrary, that General
Paoli, the late illustrious Corsican chief, is possessed of
a large property in our funds. . . [more about his living in
England] The general is particularly fond of the polite arts
of painting and music, which we are happy to say, are
cultivated to an astonishing degree, as well by the
ingenuity of private persons, as the elaborate skill of the
public professors in this country. . .
