Charles-town, (South Carolina) July 5. Previous notice
having been given, that the statue of the Right Hon. William
Pitt, would be got ready to be raised this afternoon, early
this morning, all the vessels in the harbour hoisted their
colours,. . . [36 lines] As soon as this was done, Lord
Chatham's health was drank, 26 cannon were discharged from
the artillery company, three Huzzas succeeded, St. Michael's
bells rang, and joy sat on every countenance.
