instant, about four in the Afternoon, the Dominicans of the
city of Besancon, being at the end of complin, were going
out of the choir, which is separated from the rest of the
church, in order to sing, according to their custom, the
anthem Salve Regina, in the isle, when the roof and the
pillars at the lower parts of the isle fell in so suddenly,
that they had scarce time enough to run to the tabernacle
and take out the host, i.e. the consecrated wafer. . . .
