[London] April 17. . . [2 paragraphs] The rencountre at
Paris, in which the honourable Mr. Hamilton has lately been
engaged, is related to have been as follows: The Duke de
Maurepas, and the Duke de Villeroy's son, were together in a
box at the play-house, and the latter gentleman leaving his
seat to go upon the stage to one of the actresses, Mr.
Hamilton, who had been standing behind, asked leave of the
Duke to sit down 'till his return; which the other
perceiving, came back in his heat; and after much ill
language, laid his hand on his sword, and carried Mr.
Hamilton behind the scenes, where they drew; and Mr.
Hamilton run him twice thro' the body. . .
