Articles of capitulation proposed by Elias Durnford, Esq;
Lieutenant-Governor of the province of West Florida, Captain
of Engineers, and Commandant of his Britannic Majesty's
troops in Fort Charlotte, of Mobile, and agreed to by his
Excellency Don Bernardo de Galvez, Knight Pensioner of the
Royal and distinguished Order of Charles the Third Brigade
of his Majesty's armies, Inspector, Intendant, and Governor-
General of the province of Louisiana, and Commander in Chief
of the expedition, &c.&c. . . [Art. I] Art. II.  The first
article having been refused, it is demanded that the troops
may march out of the fort, with drums beating, and eighteen
rounds of ammunition in their cartridge-boxes and being at a
certain distance from the covered way, they shall deliver up
their arms. . . [8 more articles with several alternatives,
signed] A true copy of the original, in the Bay of Mobile,
