In the Committee of Safety for the Colony of New York during
the recess of the Provincial Congress, July 15th, 1775.
Agreed and ordered, that Mr. Herman Zedwitz [*] shall be
Major, and is hereby appointed Major in the first regiment
of the troops now raising in this colony.   A true copy from
