London.  Some time before the benefit of a celebrated opera
dancer, a noble Lord (Lord C---e) being very lucky the night
before at Almack's, enclosed a 500l. bank note to the lady
for a ticket; in consequence of which his Lordship received
the following billet next morning.  "my Lord,  If your note
was designed as a compliment to my stage abilities, I think
it too much; if as the prelude to a connexion, I think it
too little. . .
