News from London. Extract of a letter from Newcastle upon
Tyne, May 9. "As soon as news came here of the Lord Mayor
and Mr. Alderman Oliver's enlargement, the bells were set a
ringing, all the ships in the river hoisted their colours,
and Sir B. Delaval gave a grand supper to the corporation of
Newcastle. After supper an elegant ball was given, the town
was finely illuminated, and the populace made a large
bonfire. . .
