[London, in a post-script after a report concerning the
Lord-Mayor of London:] N.B. The writer of the above account
having given great offence to some persons, by inserting in
a former paper, that--Nero fiddled whilst Rome was burning,-
-and an information having been file'd by the Attorney
General against the printer in consequence, takes this
opportunity to declare, that it was not his intention to
falsify an historical fact, or to give offence to better
memories; he hopes therefore it will be admitted as a
recompence, if he now declares, that Nero did not fiddle
whilst Rome was burning.
