By permission of his Excellency the Governor. (the last
night.) For the benefit of Mr. Parker and Mr. Byerly: by the
American Company. At the theatre in John-Street, on Thursday
next, the 15th of June, 1769, will be presented, a comedy
(not acted these sixteen years) call'd,
The Drummer, or The Haunted House.
After the play. Mr. Byerly, will pronounce an ode, written
by Dryden, call'd,
Alexander's Feast, or The Power of Musick.
To which will be added, (not performed this season) a
musical entertainment, call'd,
Damon and Philida.
Tickets to be had at Hugh Gaine's, at the Bible and Crown,
in Hanover-Square, and of Mr. Byerly, at Mr. Scott's, at the
Oswego Market. N.B. The ladies and gentlemen may be assured,
that the house will be opened at the top, and every
precaution taken to render it as cool as possible.
