* Mr. Hallam, in the most respectful manner, begs leave to
acquaint the public, that his friends and patrons being of
opinion, that the failure of the play Cymbeline, acted on
Monday, the 25th of April, was entirely owing to a
prepossession, which prevail'd, that the house would be
crouded, and thereby prevented many from exerting their
influence in his favour, have advised him to take another
benefit; but as that could not be done without contravening
the establish'd rules of the company, and fixing a precedent
which might be attended with very troublesome consequences
in the future; He, in order to obviate any objections of
that nature, but more particularly to convince the town that
he has not thoughts of imposing a second benefit upon them,
he has relinquish'd the profits of Cymbeline, to Mr. Woolls,
and taken his night in return.
