Fairfield (in the colony fo Connecticut) May 29, 1766. On
Friday last, the post brought us (in the public prints) the
agreeable news of the repeal of the Stamp Act, which
immediately filled every breast with satisfaction and

the 28th instant, was ushered in with ringing of bells and
roaring of guns and the more joyful acclamations of the

ten in the morning, several hundreds of the militia, and a
