Peter Pelham. Begs leave to acquaint the publick, that he
would be willing to settle in this city, upon meeting with
suitable encouragement.-- He proposes to teach the
harpsichord, or spinnet, and to instruct his scholars, if
desired, in the rules and practice of the thorough bass, as
he has been a teacher, in constant practice, for more than
20 years, 15 of which he has been organist of churches in
Boston and Virginia, and has applied himself to the study,
practice, and teaching of music, as his only business: He
therefore flatters himself, that such long experience has
qualified him to give full satisfaction to his employers:
Those who may be pleased to become such, in this place, are
requested to signify their intentions as soon as they
conveniently can, because his stay in town, at this time,
will be but short. Said Pelham may be spoke with every
day, at the Printing Office, at the Exchange. New-York,
April 16, 1764.
