Philadelphia, February 12. On Monday last the brave Major
Rogers, with Captain Greme arrived here from his long and
fatiguing march to Detroit, where he was sent by his
Excellency General Amherst, in order to take possession of
the French forts there; . . . [14 lines]
As soon as the arrival of this gentleman was known, the
people there, to testify their sense of his distinguished
merit, immediately ordered the bells to be rung, and shewed
him other marks of respect.---Yesterday he set off for New-
York.
