Annapolis, in Maryland, July 14.  Extract of a letter from
Conecocheague, July 12, 1757.  "One street, who was a
drummer in Capt. Ward's company, and taken in Fort
Granville, last year, has made his escape, in 16 days from
Fort Du Quesne, and arrived at Fort Cumberland the 11th. 
This man declares.  That the garrison of Fort Du Quesne,
consisted of between 3 and 400 men, and some Indians . . .
