Boston, September 10. . . . [3 paragraphs] A ball was made
last Thursday evening, at consort-hall, by the master of the
ceremony, to be design'd as a compliment to G--l S---y on
his departure: We are told there was a most brilliant
appearance of ladies and military gentlemen, and a great
concource of people attended round the hall. One would have
naturally thought, that the relief of Mahon was made
certain, and the surrender of Oswego contradicted otherwise
who that had any sympathy for his bleeding country, or felt
the miseries of 1600 of our brethren lately carried into
captivity, (If not inhumanly murder'd) would have thought of
opening such a scene of gaity and mirth.
