Annapolis, in Maryland, . . . [4 paragraphs] Feb. 21.
Sunday last being the birth day of the right honourable the
lord Baltimore, proprietary of this province, when he
enter'd into the twenty-third year of his age, the same was
observed here on Monday. His excellency the governor made
an elegant entertainment at his own house at dinner, for a
great number of gentlemen and ladies; in the afternoon the
publick healths were drank, the great guns firing at each
health; and in the evening his excellency gave a publick
ball in the council chamber, where all the royal healths
were repeated; and the ball lasted 'till two o'clock, at
which the ladies and gentlemen made a gay appearance . . .
