[London, October 7] The magistrates of Amsterdam have
issued a placard, that no master of alehouse or tavern, or
other house of that kind, shall receive company, or supply
them with liquor, after nine o'clock, at night, under the
penalty of 25 guilders; and that no person shall keep a
house for people to assemble in purposely for singing, under
pain of paying 100 guilders for the first offence, if on a
week day, and 300 if on a Sunday, with the addition of
corporal punishment for the second offence.
