Kingston, in Jamaica,. . . February 4. On Wednesday last
came in here the Caesar, Capt. Sparks, from Bristol, which
place he left in August last, and has since been detained at
Santa Domingo, where they plunder'd and stripp'd her People
of most they had.
Thursday arrived here his Majesty's Sloop Vulture, Capt.
Craig, from the Havannah, in about 3 weeks, who carried the
hostage for the ransom of a schooner taken some time ago, by
some of his Majesty's ships here, and soon after his arrival
got away into some of their churches.
We are assured peace was proclaim'd there on the 11th ult.
in a most pompous and solemn manner, after which Te Deum was
sung in all their churches; never was greater rejoicings
seen upon any occasion there.
