Florence, July 23. By the late accounts which this
government has receiv'd of the plague at Messinra the
violence of it began to abate, and some of the few
inhabitants that were left alive had recover'd. . . M.
Grimaud, the governor of the town..had caus'd a party to go
through the streets, beating their drums, to engage the
inhabitants to shew themselves at the windows, but that very
few appear'd. . .
