Quebec, July 3.  Saturday the 28th ult. at 12 o'clock in the
forenoon, his Excellency the Honourable Major-General James
Murray, Esq; Governor of this province, embark'd on board
the Ship Little William, . . . for England;

The same day, at 11 o'clock at night, arrived in this city
from London, on board the Commerce, . . . Mr. Briand, Bishop
of Quebec, for the Roman Catholicks, who manifested on this
occasion all their affection for what concerns their
religion. On the day following, at 5 o'clock in the morning,
the bells of all their churches announced his arrival to the
whole city,
