Musick and Instruments To be disposed of by a gentleman
lately arrived from London,
A very large and curious collection of it in manuscript,
(warrented correct) and in print; consisting of Concertos,
among which are the 16 of the famous Duke of Caputi, of
Naples, which nobody else has complete; Sonatas, Solos,
Duets, Opera Songs in score, in Italian and English, and the
prettiest of 'em transposed into easy keys for the German
Flute, Violin, or Harpsichord, to accompany the voices; they
may be play'd either Lesson-ways, or with the Thorough-Bass,
in the nature of Venician Ballads, in two parts: They are by
Leo, Pergolese, Hasse, Galuppi, Handel, &c. Amongst which
are McGibbon and Carusi's famous, easy and very pretty
Troi's[Trio's?]; Camini, Handel, and Gerard's famous, easy
and pretty duets; likewise Seiffi's and Dotzel's 12
Nocturnals, Col. Reid's famous Solos. All the old and new
Scots Songs and Tunes, with the variations, by Messrs.
Munro, Rutherford, Oswald, M'Gibbon, and Bremner. Polly, an
Opera, (and other operas) by Mr. Gay, with the musick for
the Voice accompany'd with the Harpsichord, or any other
Instrument. The Merry Mountebank, viz. Humourous Songs,
with the musick accompany'd with the Harpsichord, &c.
Lampe's 60 famous Songs (and others) accompany'd with the
Thorough-Bass, with vast large copper plates to each Song:
Guitar Music; Variety of Harpsichord Music; Signior
Pasquali's newest art of fingering it, likewise his rules
for playing Thorough-Bass without a Master. A great
collection of new and old printed English single Songs, with
their music: Crome's Fiddle new moddel'd, by way of Question
and Answer, (with many copper plates) or Rules to play it
well without a Master. New Country Dances, Minuets, Scots
Reels, Marches, Hornpipes, &c. in different books. Books of
Instruction for singing, and for all Instruments, singly,
and for transposing music into proper keys for your
instrument, by Rutherford, Johnson, Thompson, &c. Pocket and
large rul'd books for the Harpsichord, &c. some of the small
ones fill'd with Songs, Solos, Duets, Marches, Jiggs,
Minuets, &c. Some good German Flutes at 3 Dollars a piece,
either with 2 or 3 Middle-pieces to lower the pitch, to
accompany the Voice or any Wind Instrument: Fiddles lined
and Corner-stopt, to strengthen 'em, and to prevent their
unglewing in hot or moist weather, at all prices from 3
Dollars a piece. A Tenor Violin; a fine small 6 string'd
Bass-Viol; Hautboys and Reeds; common Flutes of all sizes,
some of 'em exceeding fine. March, Troop, and Grenadier
Fifes of all sizes; Fiddle (and Bass-Viol) Bridges, well
season'd, at 6s. per dozen. Pegs, Breech Pins, Tail Pieces,
&c. Fiddle Bows, (and Giardini's new invented ones) of all
lengths, constructions, and qualities, from 3s. each and
upwards, and spare Nuts, Fiddle and Bass Viol-Strings of all
sorts and sizes, and prices, from 5s. a bundle, viz 30
Strings and upwards; with a great many things in the Musical
way:

A Collection of Books, in most languages and faculties, viz.
Mathematics, Fortifications, Classics, French, &c.
Histories, Lives, Law, Novels, Plays, Pamphlets, &c. &c. The
above collected mostly for his own use, in his travels thro'
Italy, Germany, France, Spain, and elsewhere.
N.B. He lodges at Mr. Earle's, Hatter, in Dock-Street,
facing Beckman's Slip.
