London, May 26.  Letter from a gentleman in the [English]
expedition against [the French-held island of] Belleisle, to
his friend, dated May 11.
  Amidst the continual noise of a siege, the whistling of
shot, the bursting of shells, the vollies of small arms,
drums and fifes, &c. &c. &c.  I have selected this
opportunity of telling you, I am well, tho' fatigued and
harrassed to death. . .
