Extract of a Letter from Corsica, dated Oct. 22. The 8th
Inst. our pretended King Theodore sent his nephew with a
commission to three of the chiefs of the malecontents, in
order to summon them to a council the 10th, and had so good
success that he brought two with him to St. Boniface;. . .
The Lord Theodore received about a week ago about fifty
Spanish deserters, among whom is a lieutenant who formerly
belong'd to the Walloon Guards; and he now promises himself
great matters.
  P.S. The Council was held about eleven of the clock in
the morning, and about one in the afternoon they proceeded
to Church, to give thanks to the Almighty for the success
thereof, when the Te Deum was sung by twelve musicianers;
and afterwards a Collect was read by the Abbot Lacerty,
imploring God's assistance, and all possible success in the
undertakings of the King's army. . . .
