The Last Speech of the Reverend John McDonald, a Scotch
Degraded Clergyman, who was executed at Manchester on
Thursday the 2d of April, 1752, for clandestenly marrying
Miss Cox, a young lady of the Church of England, and a great
fortune, to John Barry a Roman-Catholick. . . [1 1/2
columns]  How oft have I gone to church,  as to an
assignation or play, only for diversion; or at best (as I
must e're long) with my soul sever'd from my body?  How I
tremble at the remembrance!  As if I could put the sham upon
heaven or a God were to be imposed on like my fellow
creature: . . .
