Paris, Sept. 17. . . [at birth of a Prince to the
Dauphiness] the bells were immediately rung, and the people
flocking thither, money was thrown among them; this was
accompanied with a general discharge of the town, bastille,
and Invalid, guns:  The ringing continued four days without
intermissions. . . [15 lines]
  The musicians of the Royal Academy of Music gave an opera
gratis on this occasion; which example was followed by the
French and Italian theatres. . .
