Amsterdam, Oct. 20.  The magistrates of this city have
issued a placard, that no master of ale-house or tavern, or
other house of that kind, shall receive company, or supply
them with liquor, after nine o'clock at night, under the
penalty of twenty-five florins; and that no person shall
keep a house for people to assemble in purposely for
singing, under pain of paying 100 florins for the first
offence if on a week-day, and 300 if on a Sunday, with the
addition of corporal punishment for the second offence.
