Paris, October 11. . . The first battalion of the regiment
of French Guards is expected here next Tuesday from
Flanders, from whence we learn; that Marshal de Saxe, who
has been very bad, has been for some days a littel better.
As there is a constant discourse of an approaching
embarkment to support the young pretender, it is said that
all our Scotch and Irish regiment are coming to the coast to
be transported into England or Scotland, under the convoy of
a fleet, which they pretend is equipping at Brests and that
my Lord Clare will have the command of them and not Count
Lowendahl, as was said. Te Deum was sung on Monday last for
the taking Aeth, and there were great rejoicings, with
bonfires and illuminations on the occasion.
