[news from London] The inhabitants of Stratford upon Avon,
have lately presented the freedom of their corporation to
David Garrick, Esq; in a box, the wood of which was planted
by the immortal Shakespear's own hand, and the
representation of the storm scene in King Lear carved there,
value sixty guineas; it was accompanied with a curious
penknife which belonged to that great genius.  The
corporation have since made Mr. Garrick a Burgess of the
town, and at the same time requested to have his picture to
put up in the Town-Hall.  Mr. Garrick has sent one for that
purpose.
