London, Feb. 15. Tuesday as an English gentleman was
walking in the strand behind an Italian musician in lace,
whom he had known in his own country unworthy of any notice,
and being grieved at the folly of the English in giving so
much encouragement to the refuse of other nations, while
their fellow subjects are being neglected, but stepp'd into
a coffee-house, wrote the following, and pin'd it to the
foreigner's coat.
Behold! the very scum of effeminate Italy in England, with
gold laced cloaths, while thousands of good and useful
Englishmen are naked and starving for want of common
necessaries of life, to the reproach of English sense and
humanity.
