Extract of a letter from Paris, Sept. 20. . . [3 paragraphs] 
The situation of the combined fleets is a paradox which none
can solve. . . . Surely the King's of France and Spain have
been gifted lately with the all-powerful wooden sword of
Harlequin, thus to make their fleets skip from sea to sea in
such a short space of time.
