The great encouragement received by the exhibitor, of the
serious & comic lectures, and the natural propensity the
ladies and gentlemen seem to have to dramatic entertainment,
has embolden'd him to publish, the following proposals for a
subscription, to enable him to follow a more enlarg'd plan
for the amusement of the public, he having engag'd
considerable additional help, and purposes to exhibit a
variety of new and surprising performances never seen in
this country, consisting of Italian dances, and pantomimical
interludes in grotesque characters, with elegant scenes and
machinery and every other decoration after the manner of the
entertainments at Sadler's Well's.
Subscribers to pay eight dollars, and to have two tickets
each, for twelve nights, one for the front seats, and one
for the second seats.
Non-subscribers to pay, front seats, three pistereens,
second seats, two pistereens. And back seats, one
pistereen, each night.
And as the tickets will be transferable, the public will
find that subscribing is only fixing the same price as the
projector first exhibited at, and to ascertain a certain
number to put the design in execution.
The public may be assured that no expence will be spared
to have every decoration the country can afford, and as the
projector cannot proceed till a sufficient number is
subscribed, it is hoped that those ladies and gentlemen who
are inclined to favour the above scheme will be expeditious
in signing, as the season advances, and he is obliged to go
to the southward in October next.
Subscriptions taken in at the Printing-Office, and by Mr.
Morgan.
