Cambridge, March 20, 1770.  This day the Reverend Samuel
Lock, late pastor of the Church of Sherburne, was installed
President of Harvard-College.
There was a procession from Harvard-Hall to the
Meeting-House in the following order:
The students of the College
Resident graduates
The librarian, with the college seal, records, and charter;
and the butler with the keys
The Reverend Corporation
The professors and tutors in their proper habits.  His Honor
the Lieut. Governer, & the President elect

Mr. Pemberton made another prayer; and the solemnity was
concluded with a hymn & an anthem, performed by the young
