New-York, June 12. Extract of a Letter from London, dated
April 4, 1769.
Dr. Wotherton, the learned Bishop of Gloucester, is now one
of the minority; He preached a sermon at the Chapel Royal a
few weeks ago, which gave great offence to his -----; it was
aimed directly at the M----rs, whom he accused of being the
authors of all the sedition and tumult in the Kingdom. Some
say, the K--- Rose up to go out, but was prevented by the
----; who sat by him; the papers will tell you of his being
repeatedly insulted by the mob, at the Play-House, &c. . .
