Some Thoughts on the Education of Daughters.
The education of daughters seems as if it were calculated on
purpose to awaken all the affections of the heart, at the
same time that it deprives them of the counter balance, the
strength of the head; for as soon as they return from nurse,
before they are capable of forming one simple notion of any
thing in life, they are delivered to the hands of the
dancing master, and with collars round their necks, they are
taught a fantastical gravity of behaviour, and forced to a
