Last evening a confirmation of the brave Admiral Hawke's
success, in taking and destroying the Brest fleet under
Mons. Conflans, was bro't here by several persons--on which
joyful occasion this town, according to its usual loyalty,
manifested their joy by the ringing of bells, firing of
cannon, & displaying some hundreds of sky rockets and other
fire works; which rejoycing continued 'till this morning--
and at the King's Arms there was a splendid entertainment
given by the gentlemen of this town.
