Boston, October 22. . . [60 lines of military reports] Last
Tuesday being appointed to be observed as a day of general
rejoicing in this town, on account of the great and
important success of his majesty's arms, and the reduction
and surrender of Quebeck, the capital city of Canada, the
morning was ushered in by the ringing of the bells of the
town, which continued the whole day; . . . [18 lines
describing the festivities]  Towards evening His Excellency
with both houses was entertained at Concert Hall, by the
invitation of the gentleman concerned in the management,
with a concert of musick; this being over, His Excellency
with the court proceeded to the Council Chamber, where a
great number of civil and military officers, and other
persons of distinction, by his excellency's invitation, met
in the evening, when his Majesty's and many other loyal
healths were drank. . . [18 lines, describing fireworks,

  And on Thursday evening last, there was a ball for the
ladies, at Concert Hall, in this town, upon the invitation
of his Excellency, an account of the good news aforesaid,
and at which ladies made a brilliant appearance.
