Yesterday, by order of his Excellency the Governour, was
celebrated the birth of his Royal Highness Prince
George-William-Frederick, only son to his Royal Highness the
Prince of Wales, born the 24th day of May last:  At twelve
the guns were discharged at his Majesty's Castle William,
from which His Majesty's Ship the Squirrel carried on the
firing, and from her it was continued by a great number of
merchants ships in the harbour; at five in the afternoon,
his Excellency took a review of the regiment of this town
drawn up on the Common, under the command of Col. Winslow;
which made a fine appearance of upwards of fourteen hundred
men in arms:  From thence his Excellency went into
King-street, and from the balcony of the Honourable Anthony
Stoddard, Esq'rs; house, receiv'd the marching salute from
Col. Hatch at the head of six troops of horse, and the same
from Col. Winslow and his Officers, and after their making
three handsome firings, the horse and foot were dismiss'd. 
The Town House was handsomely illuminated, and provision
made in the Council Chamber for his Excellency, for his
Majesty's Council, and for all the officers of the town,
civil and military; where was drank his Majesty's health,
the Prince and Princess of Wales, the new born Prince, Sir
Robert Walpole, Duke of New-Castle &c.  His Excellency's
house was most beautifully illuminated, and his Excellency
gave an elegant ball at Mrs. Austin's Long Room, to a great
number of the principal gentlemen and ladies of the town, on
the happy and joyful occasion.
