August 19. We have the following particulars from Genoa of
the action which lately happened at Calenzano in Corsica,
between the adherents of the Genoses and the malcontents: 
Baron de Neuhoff sent the 20th past a drum to the
inhabitants of Calenzane, situated on the borders of the
province of Balagna, to summon them to surrender; and at the
same time he gave the magistrates and the parish priest to
understand, that he very well knew that they contributed, by
their exhortations, to the resolution which the inhabitants
had taken of remaining faithful to the republick; and that
he would by one means or other, make them repent their
doings, unless they came over to his party; But the drum
having brought him this answer, that they despised his
threats, and that they were resolved to defend themselves to
