We have an account from South Kingston in Narraganset, that
on Wednesday the 17th currant, Mr. Joseph Torrey was
solemnly & publickly ordained to the work of the gospel-
ministry there.  The Rev. Mr. Cotton of Providence began
with prayer; the Rev. Mr. Webb of Boston preach'd from Luke
ii.10; the Rev. Mr. Searing of Newport pray'd after sermon;
the Rev Mr. Nyles of Braintrey, who had formerly preach'd
the Gospel & possess'd the ministry lands there and left 'em
with a tenant about 18 years ago, had now the satisfaction
of ordaining and giving the charge to his successor; the
Rev. Mr. Prince of Boston gave the right had of fellowship;
the 3d part of the 68th psalm being sung, the Rev. Mr.
Torrey concluded with the blessing. . .
