Truely Sir, it cannot but rejoyce the hearts of the
inhabitants of New-England, to hear of the famous Mr. C. H.
the great characterizer, lately arrived from Great Britain;
being the first of that procession that ever inhabited this
continent: among the rest, allow me to rejoyce, in the
hopeful expectation of having a considerable trouble taken
off my hands, by so useful a one as yours. You have
doubtless heard of the melancholy news, of the sudden and
awful death of the noted cryer of this town, Cornelius
George by name; as for his character (notwithstanding the
many I have given) I am intirely at a loss, therefore crave
the favour of you, to supply me with one, for the best
advantage and greatest honour of the deceas'd; out of the
famous set, which you have industriously procured; where he
was born signifies but little; New-England was the last
place of his abode; he dyed aged, I know not how many years,
he was a cryer by occupation, and a son of the church by
profession.
